West Milford Animal Shelter Society

In order to give dogs in the southern United States the homes they need, Southern Paws Inc., a non-profit 501c3 organization based in New Jersey, collaborates closely with southern rescue organizations and shelters.

Animals have been rescued by the Bloomingdale Regional Animal Shelter Society (BASS) from that year. We take in stray, owner-surrendered, and abandoned pets and work hard to find them new, devoted homes. We have a team of passionate volunteers who are committed to this program and to giving residents of BASS outstanding care.

All laws pertaining to the animal population in the township are upheld by Vernon Township Animal Control. It is in charge of enforcing animal ordinances, preventing the spread of rabies, capturing sick or injured animals, holding lost pets, quarantines, dog bites, and adoption. Additionally, it runs rabies clinics, issues dog licenses, and manages the animal shelter. The Vernon Township Police Department keeps staff on call around-the-clock for emergencies including animal attacks, sick or injured stray animals, bats discovered inside the house, and injured or ill animals.

A sanctuary for abandoned animals, stray dogs, cats, and small pets looking for forever homes through adoption is the Vernon BC SPCA.
