Animals have been rescued by the Bloomingdale Regional Animal Shelter Society (BASS) from that year. We take in stray, owner-surrendered, and abandoned pets and work hard to find them new, devoted homes. We have a team of passionate volunteers who are committed to this program and to giving residents of BASS outstanding care.

The West Milford Animal Shelter Society, Inc. (WMASS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is run entirely by volunteers. It was founded in 1976 as a result of a pressing necessity to start an adoption program at the municipal West Milford Animal Shelter.
