Through sheltering, pet placement, education, and animal law enforcement, the Habersham County Department of Animal Care & Control (HCACC) promotes and safeguards public safety and animal care.

By offering a no-kill animal control and shelter to care for and protect animals from abuse, neglect, and abandonment, Rabun Paws 4 Life aims to positively impact Rabun County.

The care and disposal of abandoned and homeless animals brought to the shelter by law enforcement officials or local residents is handled by NEGAS. The animals will get compassionate treatment and care while they are housed at the shelter, pending their owner's recovery, adoption, rescue, or, if necessary, euthanasia.

Our goal is to save as many animals as we can while lowering the number of unwanted pets by operating a low-cost spay and neuter clinic out of the shelter.
