A stray animal must be kept by us for at least 72 hours. Many lost pets that are found without tags and are not adoptable are put to death. Each year, the Animal Shelter gets more than 6,000 impounds. It is impossible to find loving and caring homes for all of them.

The Humane Society of Wilkes is a volunteer-run, autonomous 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to lessen the number of companion animals that are abandoned, unwanted, and mistreated in Wilkes County, North Carolina.

On the grounds of the Catawba County Government Center in Newton, the Catawba County Animal Shelter is situated at 201 Government Services Drive.

The goal of HSCC is to advance animal welfare in our neighborhood by offering homeless pets a place to stay and compassionate care. We also lead the way in our area for low-cost spay/neuter programs, animal welfare awareness campaigns, and adoption services.

The adoption cost for all dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens is $75.00 at Caldwell County Animal Control.
