The community that Lake Norman Humane envisions is one where pets are happy, healthy, and have access to their forever homes should they ever become separated.

At Piedmont Animal Rescue, our goal is to rescue and rehome canines in the neighborhood. Along with helping them find their deserving and loving humans, we are also helping our other small friends, such as hamsters and rabbits! We are a nonprofit group that aids stray animals in finding a safe haven.

Numerous fresh stray dogs and cats continue to fill our shelter to capacity. Please take into account adopting a homeless animal from our shelter if you're looking for a new pet.

On the grounds of the Catawba County Government Center in Newton, the Catawba County Animal Shelter is situated at 201 Government Services Drive.

Only residents of the Town of Cornelius may surrender pets to the shelter. Those wishing to surrender should bring evidence of residency in the Town of Cornelius, any prior medical records, and $40 for the impoundment fee.

By encouraging more adoptions, promoting spay and neuter programs, and giving low-income pet owners access to our food pantry, the Humane Society of Davie County (HSDC) is dedicated to lowering the number of animals put to death in our neighborhood.
