It offers medical attention, housing, and adoption services for neglected and abandoned dogs on more than 2,000 acres dedicated to the safety and security of local wildlife.

Lexington, Tennessee is home to the Frances Halbrook Hensley Animal Shelter, a 501(c)3 organization. The late Frances H. Hensley, an enthusiastic animal lover, had the vision and left behind the Shelter, which was established in 2016.

We are a municipal shelter with managed intake that collaborates with Animal Control to make Jackson a great environment for both people and their pets. We do not put animals to death because "their time is done" or due to lack of space, but we rely largely on the support of the local community and our rescue partners to make this mission attainable.
