Cat Shelter

Mr. C. Richard Calore, a professional humane officer, founded the National Cat Protection Society (NatCat), an organization dedicated to the protection and services of cats, in 1968. He encountered a brave cat who kept him warm all night long while serving in a French foxhole during the bitter weather of World War II. He founded NatCat as a cat and kitten-specific animal center and a means of enforcing the ethical treatment of all animals after being inspired by this cat.

By appointment only, the Newport Beach Animal Shelter provides its services, including the redemption of animals by their owners and viewing animals that are up for adoption.

Our main objective is to prevent as many animals as we can from being put to death in American shelters. Every day, more than 9000 animals are put to death, totaling more than 4 million annually.

A non-profit organization called Priceless Pet Rescue runs no-kill pet adoption facilities under the name "The Orphanage."

The Orange County Humane Society works to give the city of Garden Grove a secure haven for stray and abandoned animals. Our shelter's mission is to place every one of our animals in a loving, permanent home and, when practical, to offer rehabilitation.

A non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) is O.C. Animal League, Inc. Its main purpose is to rescue these animals and give them refuge while waiting to be adopted into caring homes.
