Cathy Kangas Foundation for Animals

Strays & Others, Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(c)3, Fairfield County-based organization managed entirely by volunteers that is committed to the rescue and ethical placement of unwanted and homeless animals.

We want to decrease the number of wild cats while also helping abandoned and adoptable kittens find loving homes. Every money donated goes directly into the upkeep and support of the cats, on which we solely rely.

Founded in 1962, PAWS is a no-kill animal refuge. Early years saw all animals being fostered in homes before gradually transitioning to housing in veterinary clinics where it was simpler for prospective adopters to meet them.

Dogs were housed by Basil Burt, Wilton's dog warden at the time; Animals In Distress was created as a compassionate charity to care for all animals in need. Members of the organization nurtured cats and other animals.
