Gracious Friends Animal Sanctuary

The Potsdam Humane Society (PHS)*, which was established in 1957, has spent more than 60 years giving unwanted, abandoned, and ailing animals in Potsdam and the surrounding areas love and humane treatment.

The Jefferson County SPCA was founded in 1891, and its goal is to combat animal abuse by offering a focused adoption, foster, and medical program across the Region of Northern New York.

In Massena, New York, a private animal sanctuary called the Massena Humane Society takes in up to 1000 stray cats and dogs annually.

Our goal is to give companion animals without homes care, solace, and kindness. Through spay/neuter, the LCHS seeks to put an end to stray and abandoned animals. By encouraging kind, responsible pet ownership, we work to make sure the animals in our care are adopted into loving, lifelong homes.
