Animal Protection Society - Friday Harbor

Lopez Island's Lopez Animal Protection Society (LAPS) is a nonprofit organization that offers animal adoption and rescue services.

Our Mission: By running an animal shelter, we work to promote the welfare of animals in need by offering assistance to the local community and humane treatment.

We assist cats and the people who adore them at the Cat's Meow. We offer free spay/neuter services for cats in our neighborhood, a free cat food and litter pantry, a unique cage-free adoption center where we house unwanted cats until they find loving homes, and an indoor/outdoor refuge for wild cats, among other services.

A non-profit group called the Whidbey Animals' Improvement Foundation (WAIF) was established in 1990 with the goal of aiding the stray pets on Whidbey Island. In the interim, until loving homes can be found for the animals, WAIF is committed to giving displaced pets food, shelter, veterinary care, and love.

Old Dog Haven is a small charity organization that helps senior dogs that can't be adopted find loving, safe homes in western Washington by utilizing a broad network of foster homes. We bring these pets into our homes when we have the space and resources to do so.
