Most animal shelters in and around the state of Illinois, including P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter of Tinley Park, are overburdened with the number of abandoned and stray dogs and cats.

For more than 50 years, the south suburbs of Chicago have benefited from the services and resources offered by the South Suburban Humane Society, an animal shelter.

A 501c3 no-kill humane society, NAWS' mission is to transform the field of animal welfare. We need to find other solutions to the problem of companion animal overpopulation and suffering until there are appropriate federal and state regulations.

Our mission is to guarantee that all animals are treated with the respect they deserve, to inform our community members about the value of spaying and neutering their pets, and to address the issue of pet overpopulation.

Through its collaboration with Pets for Patriots, Homewood Adoption Center provides dog and cat adoptions to veterans. Both locations are available for adoption to veterans in our program, and both are managed by South Suburban Humane Society.

According to them, adopting involves more than just providing a home for a pet in need. Additionally, you're lowering the demand for large-scale breeding operations like puppy mills that prioritize profit over the welfare of animals in need.
