Our goal is to end animal overpopulation, advocate for animals and their people, and educate the public about how to treat all animals with kindness and responsibility. We also provide safe shelter for animals in transition. ​

Since launching our Community Cats program in 2022, we've discovered that the program requires feral cat dens to function properly. Consider giving a den if you are passionate about cat rescue, TNR, or just want to help.

Every Pet Matters, and No Pet Should Suffer, is what we think. HART offers a safe haven with a no-kill policy for abandoned, unwanted, mistreated, ill, and injured animals.

To stop animal abuse, promote animal welfare, educate the public about how to treat animals humanely, raise awareness of the problem of companion animal overpopulation and offer solutions, and provide high-quality care, shelter, and adoption services for animals as needed.

This facility houses all animals seized as strays or impounded in the unincorporated areas of the County, in municipalities that have an animal control service agreement with the County, and in the Cities of Champaign and Urbana.

CATsNAP was founded in 2005 with the intention of reducing pet overpopulation and enhancing animal welfare in the broader Champaign County, Illinois area. Particularly, we fervently support spaying and neutering for all animals, regardless of breed, sex, or age. Spaying and neutering helps to decrease the number of cats and dogs who are born into neglectful and abusive environments.
