The Panhandle Humane Society's mission is to use the Five Freedoms approach to provide a caring and fear-free environment for the neighborhood and the dogs under our care.

The North Platte Police Department's Animal Shelter collaborates with PAWS-itive Partners Humane Society, an independent non-profit with no public financing, to promote spaying and neutering and encourage the adoption of unwanted pets.

For those animals at the shelter in need, such as those that are hurt, unwell, having trouble adjusting to life in the shelter, or whose time has come to an end, we offer rescue, veterinary care, foster homes, and refuge.

Greetings from the McCook Humane Society! Since 1983, the McCook Humane Society has offered adult dogs and cats as well as puppies and kittens a temporary home.

Animals are not killed at KAAS. The duration of the animals in our care is unrestricted. The animal stays with us for however long it takes to find a new home, as long as it is physically and psychologically well. When necessary, we work in collaboration with other animal welfare organizations and specialized rescues to assist in placing animals in adoring homes.

The idea for Voice for Companion Animals was just a seed. The idea was first conceived in 2014 by Grand Island resident Robyn Mays, who has a remarkable affinity with animals.
