Animal Rescue of Carroll

Small county-owned Calhoun County Canine Shelter receives support from a Friends of the Shelter organization. When necessary, we assist the county's lost and abandoned animals in finding their owners or new homes.

We serve North Central Iowa as a limited intake ("no-kill") facility. We support the necessity of pet spaying and neutering as well as humane education. Neither the state nor the city give money to our group.

In Cass County, the Atlantic Animal Shelter in Atlantic, Iowa, offers temporary housing and care for stray, unwanted, and owner-rendered animals, including dogs and cats.

Education about animal welfare develops knowledge, comprehension, abilities, skills, attitudes, and values related to human involvement in animal welfare.

A nonprofit dedicated to the humane treatment of animals is the Boone Area Humane Society.

The Moffitt Animal Shelter exists to provide a temporary haven and shelter for stray, abandoned, and neglected animals. It also promotes humane treatment of dogs and cats through education and is a strong proponent of pet population control.
