City of Atlantic Animal Shelter

We envision a better community through caring interactions between people and their pets. To protect and nurture companion animals and enrich the lives of those who love them.

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) humane society that offers the towns of Harrison County, Iowa, food, shelter, medical care, adoption opportunities, spay/neuter clinics, a TNR Program, and education.

501(c)(3) non-profit The Animal Rescue of Carroll, Inc. was established in 2006. With a focus on adoption, education, cruelty prevention, spay and neuter programs, and reuniting lost pets with their owners, Animal Rescue of Carroll will operate a dog and cat shelter for serving and caring for lost, unwanted, or homeless dogs and cats.

Protecting homeless and abandoned animals held by the City of Clarinda, as well as, to a lesser extent, those residing in southwest Iowa, is the mission of the SWIHS.

We're dedicated to saving homeless pets, helping other shelters and rescues with rescue transports, providing affordable spay/neuter services to our neighborhood, and educating the public about issues like pet overpopulation, responsible pet ownership, and puppy mills.

Through education and the celebration of the relationship between humans and animals, we are kind individuals who care about animals and work to improve their welfare. We fight animal abuse and demand that all animals be treated humanely.
