City of Augusta Animal Services

The Society was founded by a group of like-minded people, and it was established in Georgia in 1985. The Society began as a network of foster homes that housed cats and dogs who were up for adoption and took them to TV stations and other locations in an effort to find them homes.

We are a tiny, family-run animal rescue organization whose goal is to aid all disadvantaged animals.

An organization with a charitable mission, the Thomson-McDuffie County Animal Shelter is dedicated to the protection and humane treatment of all animals. Our goals are to provide a safe haven for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals, educate the public on ethical pet ownership, motivate people to spay and neuter their pets, and promote adoption of the animals in our care.
