Aspen Animal Shelter

Crested Butte and the surrounding areas north of Round Mountain are served by PAWS, the Paradise Animal Welfare Society, which offers animal welfare services.

Putting into action the highest standards of animal care, advocacy, and education to reunite pets with their owners.

With the goal of maintaining a safe neighborhood where we encourage responsible pet ownership through outreach, education, and enforcement, Animal Services offers care and shelter to stray animals in need.

Through community outreach and youth programs, we aim to inform the public. We also support low-cost spay and neuter options and care for the animals in our care while they wait to be adopted.

We are entirely made up of volunteers. There is more to our facilities than meets the eye.

A small nonprofit organization called Gunnison Underdog Rescue (GUR) is committed to saving, nurturing, and placing unwanted and needy animals for adoption.
