East County Shelter

One of the few localities in the Bay Area that provides cheap housing is Antioch. In Antioch, there are many different house types, ranging from condos to single-family homes, with prices to suit different income brackets.

We are a small, all-volunteer organization trying to accept as many dogs and pups from their owners as possible to prevent them from ending up in shelters.

501c3 Bay Area Animal Rescue Crew (BAARC) was founded by friends who came together because they shared a love and passion for rescuing animals.

Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) is a nationally renowned, award-winning leader with the dual mission of "People Rescuing Animals... Animals Rescuing People®." With 47,000 adoptions to date, we also strengthen the bond between humans and animals by providing life-changing programs for kids, seniors, veterans, and members of the underprivileged community.

The county's Animal Services division is in charge of upholding leash regulations, rounding up stray or runaway animals, and managing a shelter in Martinez.
