Dr. Bud E. Alldredge Sr. founded the Sweetwater Veterinary Hospital in 1946 after earning his doctorate from Texas A&M. (World War II cut short his final year of education.) Large animals were seen "outcalls" and little surgery were performed in the basement of our Pine Street home. "Red" Alston constructed the first clinic in 1947 at the intersection of E.
