In order to provide veterinary emergency and after-hours treatment for the Truckee Meadows region, the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center of Reno was founded in 1992. With just a few employees and two full-time veterinarians, the hospital opened. We currently employ 9 full-time veterinarians, 3 board-certified specialists (beginning in the middle of the 2017 fall semester), and more than 30 support personnel. We are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week at 6425 South Virginia Street in south Reno.
