Dr. Peter Fleming founded Crystal Lake Animal Hospital in 1974, and it has been serving the community ever since. Dr. Christopher A. Melgey has owned and operated it since August 2012. It's in Pompano Beach, Florida, on Sample Road. It is a freestanding structure on the south side of the street, conveniently placed between I-95 and Powerline Road. Boca Raton, Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Lighthouse Point, Margate, Parkland, and Pompano Beach are just a few of the communities we serve. We take pride in providing the best veterinarian care available. Our goal is to improve your pet's overall health and lifespan. With two full-time doctors, the Animal Hospital of Ft Lauderdale opened its doors in December 1986.  We are currently a five-doctor practice with a 6,000 square foot state-of-the-art free-standing facility that provides full diagnostics, internal medicine, surgery, and reproduction services to our patients.  We use our entire in-house lab, digital x-ray, endoscopy, ultrasound, and two surgery suites equipped with CO2 laser to give the finest quality veterinary medicine accessible as a completely computerized hospital.

Our goal at our pet therapy and rehabilitation center is to approach your pet's health holistically. Dr. Jessie, a holistic veterinarian in Fort Lauderdale, treats pet pain, organ disorders, arthritis, post-surgical healing, and much more to help you give your pet a better quality of life – our objective is to add years to their lives and years to their lives.

We are locally owned and our team members reside in the Wilton Manors Community. Dr. Jose Barboza left his position as the Chief of Staff of a large national pet hospital in Aventura to open his own practice in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Dr. Gary Pait, our longtime friend and colleague, has joined Dr. Barboza to provide a more flexible and individualized approach to veterinary care.
