Dr. John Matchette created the Animal Care Hospital of Phoenix in 1964. The first hospital was just a few blocks east of our current location on Thomas Road. In 1981, we relocated the practice to its current location, just west of 32nd Street. Dr. Stephen Bishop, Dr. Mark Halver, and Dr. Tara Temple joined the practice in 1973, 1981, and 2006, respectively. From 1977 through 1988, Dr. Bishop was the director of our outpatient clinic (Animal Care Clinic). The practice was located at 20th Street and Camelback in the Town and Country retail center.

The AAHA-accredited VCA Mountain View Veterinary Hospital is a welcoming, cozy facility with a full range of medical services. It is situated between 7th Street and East Mountain View Road. For puppies and kittens, adult dogs and cats, as well as senior pets, our compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarians offer well-pet and sick-pet services. We offer physical examinations, vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, pet dental treatment, hospitalization, digital x-rays, and laboratory testing, among other services. Inquire with us about CareClub, a low-cost monthly wellness program. We sell a range of treats as well as Royal Canin therapeutic pet food and Hill's Science & Prescription Diets. The Arizona Humane Society, Lost Our Home, Arizona Giant Breed Rescue, and the Maricopa County Shelter are just a few of the area rescue organizations and animal shelters with which we collaborate closely.
