Dr. John Matchette created the Animal Care Hospital of Phoenix in 1964. The first hospital was just a few blocks east of our current location on Thomas Road. In 1981, we relocated the practice to its current location, just west of 32nd Street.

Dr. Stephen Bishop, Dr. Mark Halver, and Dr. Tara Temple joined the practice in 1973, 1981, and 2006, respectively. From 1977 through 1988, Dr. Bishop was the director of our outpatient clinic (Animal Care Clinic). The practice was located at 20th Street and Camelback in the Town and Country retail center.

KC Mobile Veterinary Services

Dr. Campabadal has always aspired to be a veterinarian since she was a child. She was constantly rescuing stray dogs and cats, caring for and feeding them. She promised herself that she would get a degree in veterinary medicine so that she could save even more animals. She realized her dream a few years later when she graduated with honors from Costa Rica's Universidad Nacional's School of Veterinary Medicine. She worked for a few years after graduation at a thoroughbred farm in Panama before opening her own mobile practice in Costa Rica, where she cared for cattle, horses, dogs, and cats. For a while, she was also a member of the Costa Rica Veterinary Medical Examining Board.
