Our mission is to give your pet the highest quality medical and surgical care as well as client education in pet health and ownership. We are committed to treating our patients and clients with respect, dignity, and compass. Dr. Wesley Cowan and his compassionate and dedicated staff are ready to help you provide that type of care your pet deserves.

The first veterinarian in the area, Dr. Pimberton, was the initial owner and operator of Ark Animal Hospital, the first veterinary facility in Liberty, Missouri. Dr. Bales acquired the business in 1961 and changed its name to Bales Animal Hospital. At that time, the clinic was situated on Liberty Square beneath the pharmacy. Dr. Bales relocated the office next to the bowling alley in 1970. As his childhood veterinarian, Dr. Denny joined the practice in 1991 and remained there until Dr. Bales retired in 1995.
In 2002, Ark Animal Hospital changed its name and moved to its current address. Many things have changed throughout the years, but one thing has stayed constant: each member of our staff is committed to delivering high-quality services.

Our veterinarians work hard to provide you with the tools and strategies to help you keep your cat healthy and happy so you can prevent medical and behavioral problems from developing. We believe that the better you understand a problem, the better choices you can make to work with it. And when you understand your cat better, you can make better decisions regarding how to handle it.

We set out on this adventure in 2002 with a single objective in mind: to offer high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter services that would eventually end the practice of euthanizing dogs and cats due to a lack of space.
Along the process, we discovered there were additional ways to assist and prevent pet homelessness. As a result, we eventually found ourselves assisting pet owners with resources, pet food, information, and supplies on the streets. Additionally, it implied a clinic that offered assistance with immunizations, parasite prevention or treatment, as well as a dedicated medical care fund.

We are a small animal clinic that provides annual exams, vaccinations, and surgeries. We also have a groomer that works with animals weighing less than 35 pounds.

Our team at Foxwood Animal Hospital is eager to offer our patients high-quality care in a setting that shows our concern for their wellbeing and is safe, laid-back, professional, yet pleasant.

Our Family Vet - Bullard, which has been serving the Bullard and South Tyler region since 2001, provides a wide range of clinical care services for companion animals, including internal medicine, surgical services, dentistry, preventative medicine, digital radiology, and much more. At Our Family Vet, we know that pets are family and we treat them as such. Our purpose is proudly expressed in our Mission Statement: To help people and their pets live longer, healthier lives.
