Our objective is to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and rehabilitative care for canine and feline family members to the residents of the Roaring Fork Valley. Through client education, wellness, and preventative treatment for our patients, we are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of all animals. Animal hospitals were the area of expertise for Gentle Friends Veterinary Hospital from Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Dr. Carsten created Birch Tree Animal Hospital in 1988. He was able to return to his hometown in the Roaring Fork Valley after the inauguration of this office. As a graduate of Glenwood Springs High School and Colorado Mountain College, he had a long held ambition to return to the Roaring Fork Valley to raise his family.
