Emerald City Pet Rescue was established in 2013 by Vivian Goldbloom with the goal of rescuing abused, abandoned, and homeless animals from overcrowded shelters around the nation. With the goal of expanding the rescue, we created our retail location. All sales from our location benefit the rescue. We take great pride in both our education and animal care. We want our staff to be able to meet your dietary needs while still letting you enjoy our cool, cutting-edge toys and equipment.

When Elsa Wulff bought a little farm store in 1988, Mud Bay was born. On Mud Bay Road, which extends west from Olympia and across the bottom of Mud Bay, one of the southern arms of Puget Sound, the store was situated in an eighty-year-old structure. Early on, Mud Bay offered a small selection of almost everything, including locally produced hog feed, fertilizer, hay, pop tarts, and folk art. The shop also suffered a loss. Lars, Elsa's son, joined Mud Bay as its third employee in 1989 after realizing that his mother couldn't afford for the company to fail.
