Tails was founded in 1998 as a one-of-a-kind store for Central Coast dog and cat enthusiasts to purchase food, treats, toys, and other necessities. Tails is located in the middle of San Luis Obispo's historic city, near the famous Bubble Gum Alley. We've been assisting pet owners in San Luis Obispo, Fresno, Santa Maria, and Santa Barbara County for decades by providing outstanding products and a welcoming environment for their cats and dogs.

Mike and Ethan, co-founders, spent more time than anything listening to their consumers as they drove door-to-door in the heat of horse country with their one and only product. Mike and Ethan soon discovered their clients' wishes and requirements, and they responded, growing to help their customers care for their animals in the best manner possible, out of an understanding and respect for the link between animal and human.
