Marlee Layh and Lucas Donnell, Yellow Springs High School seniors, suggested a dog park in Ellis Park in 2010. Village Council ultimately rejected the project due to concerns about the site.

Greene County Public Health, Ohio Department of Health, CDC, and the Aquatic Council guidelines and recommendations are all followed by the staff. Gaunt Park pool personnel will place a high priority on safety, re-evaluate on a regular basis, and update or add any additional restrictions or guidelines as needed to maintain patron and employee safety.

The Village's largest park, Gaunt Park, is located on West South College Street and houses the public swimming pool. Men's and women's leagues, as well as the local tee-ball program, use Gaunt Park's two softball diamonds. Every summer, Gaunt Park hosts the Yellow Springs Youth Baseball Program.
