Irene Rinehart Park is a lush green regional park along the Yakima River's border that is part of the Ellensburg development project. Ellensburg is a short commute from Seattle and has a small population, so if you drive through it, you might get that classic country feel.

Coupeville Town Park is a traditional 3.8-acre municipal park with a breathtaking view of Penn Cove. A bandshell, playground, and mature evergreen trees may be seen in the park.

Of all the off-leash areas on Whidbey Island, Patmore Pit has the largest fenced area. Patmore is a 15-acre meadow with separate gated agility and small dog areas, as well as toys, water, and poop bags. Directions: Take Highway 525 North or Highway 20 South to Patmore Road, turn west on Patmore Road, then turn left on the second road on the left. Follow the road to the gate, which is on your left.
