On more than 1,000 acres, the dog-friendly Paul M. Grist State Park in Selma, AL, provides a serene retreat. The Alabama Black Belt Birding Trail includes a stop at Paul M. Grist. Waterfowl, songbirds, raptors, and both migrant and resident species are all likely to be seen in the park. White-tailed deer, Eastern wild turkey, and a variety of amphibians and reptiles are among the other animals you might observe. Most portions of the park allow dogs as long as they are leashed. For safety concerns, several bike and equestrian riding trails do not allow dogs. In stores, food service areas, bathhouses, pools, and swimming areas, dogs are not permitted.Dogs must not be left unattended, and if left in a heated car, they will be confiscated.
