On more than 1,000 acres, the dog-friendly Paul M. Grist State Park in Selma, AL, provides a serene retreat. The Alabama Black Belt Birding Trail includes a stop at Paul M. Grist. For safety concerns, several bike and equestrian riding trails do not allow dogs. In stores, food service areas, bathhouses, pools, and swimming areas, dogs are not permitted.Dogs must not be left unattended, and if left in a heated car, they will be confiscated.
