The Sedalia Parks and Recreation Department has planned a fun-filled day for dogs and humans alike on Saturday.

Old Drum's Best Friend Dog Park is a secure and responsible environment for dogs and their owners to play, exercise, and bond. It respects the legacy of Old Drum by celebrating the bond between people and their canine companions.

Jim the Wonder Dog was named "Missouri's Wonder Dog" by Missouri Governor Jay Nixon. We are relieved that Jim's life has finally been recognized by the state in which he lived. Jim's story has been told all around the state for years, but he is now recognized as "Missouri's Wonder Dog."

Jackson County Parks & Recreation is the third largest county park system in the United States. Our parks system covers almost 22,000 acres and includes excellent lakes, campgrounds, one of the best public golf courses in the Kansas City area, and historic sites dating back to 1808 when Missouri was considered "far out West."

Pets are welcome at the Benton Park Inn. For no additional cost, two dogs of any size are welcome. In the guest rooms, dogs must not be left alone.
