Lands End Trail

The off-leash dog area at Lands End Beach is not gated. Keep an eye out for signage indicating which locations necessitate the usage of a leash.

One of San Francisco's most popular pet-friendly parks is Golden Gate Park. Dogs have their own off-leash area near the Fulton St. and 38th Ave. entrance. There are four separate off-leash areas: the southeast section between Lincoln Way, King Drive, and 2nd and 7th Avenues; the northeast section between Stanyan and Grove Streets; the southcentral area between King Drive, Middle Drive, and 34th and 38th Avenues; and the fenced training area between 38th and Fulton Avenues.

San Francisco's Ocean Beach is pet-friendly. Dogs are allowed off-leash from stairwell 1 to stairwell 21, but must remain on-leash in the remaining places. Dog owners should clean up after their pets and keep a watch on puppies playing in the sand.

Pet-friendly Baker Beach in San Francisco, about a mile south of the Golden Gate Bridge, is a terrific place to take your dog for a view of the iconic landmark. On Baker Beach north of Lobos Creek, dogs are allowed off-leash, but they must be on a leash south of Lobos Creek.

At this kid-friendly green spot in Golden Gate Park, pets are welcome on a leash. A fantastic location for games or parties.
