Buffalo River is a unique undammed river in the United States, running for 137 miles through the Ozark Mountains. At Buffalo National River, pets are welcome, but there are a number of limitations in place to protect park resources, wildlife, and other visitors. With the exception of the Tyler Bend Campground trails (Spring Hollow, Buck Ridge, and Rock Wall in the Middle District) and all three Buffalo Point Campground trails, all park trails are closed to pets (Forest Trail, Overlook Trail, and Campground Trail in the Lower District). All campgrounds, the river, and the gravel bars accept pets, however they must be kept under personal control at all times. You and your dog are allowed to float and enjoy the river.
