South Higgins Lake State Park

Lyon Oaks, a 1,041-acre park in Wixom, protects 800 acres of environmentally fragile wetlands. A 13-acre gated dog park, a day-use area with a picnic shelter, a playground and recreation fields, and around 6 miles of trails for bicycling, cross-country skiing, and on-leash dog walking are all available at the park.

Pets are welcome at Markey Dog Park. A few obstacles, a huge open area, a community water bowl with extra gallons of water, and a pleasant covered pavilion await you and your dog. Remember to clean up after your dog.

A Parks and Recreation Advisory Board exists in Markey Township. Mike Tussey, Hal Hackett, Wendy Engle, Joanne Donaldson, and Andrea Kitchen make up the board. We're seeking for more people to join our team.

Fishing, hiking, camping, and picnics are all available at this lakeside park, which also has a bathing beach.

South Higgins Lake State Park is a 1,000-acre public recreation park located five miles southwest of Roscommon, Michigan, on the southern bank of Higgins Lake.
