Poway Dog Park

On the east side of Lake Poway, you'll find the Mt. Woodson trailhead. The hike to the Mt. Woodson Summit begins at the Lake Poway Staging area and climbs 2,000 feet in elevation. This 8-mile round-trip climb takes an average of 3 to 4 hours and is only advised for experienced hikers looking for a challenging workout. Please keep in mind that hiking some popular paths in the heat can be risky.

Iron Mountain Trail is a 5.75-mile dog-friendly, moderately easy trek in Poway, CA that will take Petzooie around 2.5 hours to accomplish. This is a well-traveled and well-marked trail. If your dog is familiar to trails, he should be OK on his paws; if not, you should gradually introduce him to them. On the same trail, there is a shorter journey to the Ramona overlook.

Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve is a dog-friendly preservation area near San Diego, CA, where leashed dogs on leashes no longer than 8 feet are accepted on the trails. Waterfalls, streamside forest, sycamore trees, a freshwater marsh, and fauna such as mule deer, bobcat, coyote, and raccoons may all be found in the canyon. Camping is not permitted within the Preserve, and all recreational activities are limited to day usage only.

Rancho Bernardo Dog Park is an off-leash dog park in San Diego, California, with three separate gated sections for dogs of various sizes, as well as water, seats, and shade.

Maddox Neighborhood Dog Park in San Diego, CA, has a fenced, off-leash dog park that is a terrific area for your pet to meet new people. The park is walled and features paths, a drinking fountain, picnic tables, and a panoramic view of Rattlesnake Canyon.

Woodglen Vista Dog Park in Santee, California, is a dog-friendly, fully-fenced, off-leash dog park with shade and water. Woodglen Vista Park also offers a grass field and facilities. When outside of the dog park, please keep Petzooie on a leash.
