Pipestone National Monument

Split Rock Creek State Park is a Minnesota state park located in Ihlen, Minnesota, about south of Pipestone. In 1938, the Works Progress Administration constructed a dam to create a lake, providing water recreation to a region of the state with few natural lakes.

Hikers, climbers, and campers flock to this large park because of a 100-foot Sioux quartzite cliff and a bison herd.

Unleashed Dog Park is located at 33890 733rd Ave, St. James, adjacent to Meadowlark Compost Site. Bring your dog to Unleashed Dog Park and make a day of it. This is not your typical dog park. This large park offers almost two acres of woodland and grassy play areas, ideal for a fetch game.

There are RV and tent campsites, as well as cabins, two of which are dog-friendly, at this pawesome park.

The park, first opened in 1887, is named for Henry Hastings Sibley, Minnesota's first governor. The park has previously housed a horse racing track, a regional zoo, a museum, a community band shell, clay tennis courts, and well-known gardens.

Athletic fields, gardens, a playground, picnic spots, and a skating rink are all part of this community retreat.
