This is a beautiful park with a rich history. It will be enjoyed by the entire family. Your dog is welcome on train rides! They are urged to sit at the window seat and take in the scenery. They also have a working roundhouse where they repair and try to resurrect vintage steam engines. The people are quite warm and welcoming. This railroad has been used to film over 200 movies and television episodes!!! Trip of a lifetime!! This is something that a family must do!

Dragoon Gulch Trail

The Dragoon Gulch Trail can be found in Sonora, California. The current trail network, named after a group of dragoons (US Army cavalry soldiers) who formerly mined the area for gold, offers visitors a unique opportunity to wander through the Mother Lode's lovely oak woodlands. The 2.5-mile circle walk follows a natural creek up to a vista with a breathtaking view of Sonora's Historic Downtown and neighboring mountain ranges. The routes vary in intensity, making it ideal for both casual walkers and those looking for a challenging hike. There are two entrances, one of which is designated as an ADA access with parking and paved trails. On the trail, dogs must be on a leash.
