Dog Park Locations

In New York City parks, you may enjoy the outdoors with your dog! Remember to stay safe, follow the rules, and treat others with respect. Dogs must be kept on a leash (no longer than six feet) at all times, with the exception of dog runs and specified off-leash areas at defined hours.

This dog park is situated behind a small grassy children's play area just off Elizabeth Place on the west side of I-87/287. A fenced-in area with trees, a hillside, and open space is available. Water is available.

A small neighborhood park with a fence has been set aside for dogs to romp and play off-leash.

The run is located in an area that was designed by the Olmsted Brothers firm in 1933 as a Children's Play Lawn. During years of decline following the 1970s fiscal crisis, the neighborhood approached NYC Parks about transforming the play grass into a dog-friendly playground. Sir William's Dog Run was founded in 2001, and since then, the dog-owning community has collaborated with NYC Parks and the Fort Tryon Park Trust.

We are a non-profit organization that advocates for Homer's Dog Run as well as concerns surrounding pet ownership in our community. On the run, we share insights, ideas, resources, and doggy kisses. This enclosed dog park, which includes a separate section for smaller dogs, allows pets to run and play off-leash. Registration is necessary.
