William C. Sterling State Park

Pets will not be permitted to roam freely in the parks. All pets must be kept on a leash that is 6 feet or less at all times. Horseback riding is only permitted on specified bridle routes.

Nike Park, on Newport Road in Frenchtown, was bought from the federal government and was formerly part of a World War II Nike missile station.

Green space includes a sledding hill and playground, as well as a Vietnam Veterans memorial and picnic pavilion.

At Orchard, Coney Island, Brighton, Midland, South, and Manhattan Beaches, leashed dogs are permitted on the boardwalk/promenade. Dog runs are huge, fenced-in areas where dogs can run about freely during park hours.
