In 1980, the P.O. Faulkner tennis courts were first used. The Martinsburg High School boys and girls tennis teams use the four courts seven days a week, all year (weather permitting). These courts were in desperate need of not just a touch-up, but a total repair after 38 years and only one resurfacing!

The gem of Berkeley County's 18 public parks is War Memorial Park. War Memorial Park, which is maintained and run by the Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation Board, offers a wide range of amenities and programs and is Berkeley County's most heavily utilized park.

4. Poor House Farm Park

A large county park with a stocked lake, various event pavilions, disc golf, and a mid-nineteenth-century barn.

5. Goldie Gibbons Dog Park

J.W. Gibbons sold this property to Goldie and Gladstone Gibbons on November 2, 1944. Azaline V. LeMaster, LeMaster's wife. A big wooden Victorian structure formerly stood proudly in the northwest corner of this 1.7-acre parcel, and it was home to whoever owned the property at the time. Along with being a farmhouse, this edifice has also served as a general shop, the Bedington Post Office, Doctor Andy LeMaster's office, and a train station for locals waiting to board the Cumberland Valley train. They'd buy a ticket that would take them south to Martinsburg or north to Hagerstown. Anyone who was brought to Doctor LeMaster's office with an illness or injury requiring hospitalization was loaded onto the train and taken to the hospital.

Ambrose Park is a wonderful place to take the whole family, including your dog! A children's garden, a dog park, playgrounds, and picnic places are all available in our park.

7. Blair County Dog Park

Canine Recreation and Sports Complex, 12.5 acres Fenced in 4 acres for off-leash fun. Small segment for dogs weighing less than 30 pounds. A walking route circles the park's perimeter (non fenced). Educational workshops, events, and a retail pet store are all in the works.
Every quarter, there are Yappy Hours.
