5. Indy 500 Dog Park

University Hills is a wonderful neighborhood for pets. The Indy 500 Dog Park on California and Gabrielino is a great place for your dog to socialize. Indy 500 Dog Park is close to Petite Paws, a dog park just for little canines. The City of Irvine operates a no-kill shelter adjacent to the Central Bark dog park.
8. Walnut Trail

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports Walnut Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Irvine! A parking lot with easy access to Walnut Trail is shown on the map below.
