Building a better community takes time, but it starts with believing in it. We believe you desire more than a home. You need to have a sense of location. You want to sit on your front porch and take in the views of the mountains, the flowers in your yard, and the landscaped boulevards.

2. Paws Park Dog Park

A fantastic tiny dog park. Small and large dogs have their own fenced spaces. Fresh water spickets and doggie waste bags are provided. There are numerous benches for people who choose to sit, as well as a walkway that circles the circumference for those who prefer to walk. When I was going through Helena with my dog for the day, I was pleasantly surprised to see beautiful park.

Dogs are welcome in the gorgeous courtyard of HALL Wines in St. Helena, but not inside. Anytime is a good time to visit because of the picture-perfect environment. However, if you go with your pet in October, you will be able to aid other creatures as well. The winery hosts its month-long "Harvest Hounds" in the courtyard every October. There, four-legged pals can mingle while bipeds sample HALL wines, with sales going to Napa Humane. Well-behaved hounds can always hang out with their people at HALL, regardless of the season.

For the 300 miles between Memphis and Vicksburg, Helena is the only city on the Mississippi River. A 60-foot boat ramp, one of the largest public access ramps on the lower Mississippi, is located at River Park. Visitors can stroll right up to the river's edge on a boardwalk with informative panels explaining the local ecosystem and Civil War history.
