This well-kept dog park is a terrific location for your pet to run about and play off-leash. The area northeast of the softball complex at Foothills Park, 57th Avenue and Union Hills Drive, is accessible from the Foothills Library parking lot. The use of two independent spaces is rotated on a monthly basis. Each half of the park has distinct spaces for large and small dogs, including grass, shade, water, and benches, as well as signs indicating which side is 'open.' Within the east side region, there is an agility course. On Wednesdays, this dog park is closed for maintenance.

Picnicking, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, jogging, and bird viewing are all available at Thunderbird Conservation Park, a 1,185-acre park in the Hedgpeth Hills committed to protecting the desert ecosystem in Glendale, Arizona. Thanks to the efforts of various volunteer groups, almost 15 miles of multi-use trails have been built.

An off-leash dog area is located approximately north of the west parking lot and south of the softball complex at Sahuaro Ranch Park, 63rd Avenue and Mountain View Road. This is a fantastic place to bring the pup for a doggy play day, with a small dog park, drinking fountains, trash stations, and some dog agility equipment. On Tuesdays, this dog park is closed.

Northern Horizon Park, located on the corner of 63rd and Northern Avenues, features a big fenced-in play area, a small dog play area, drinking fountains, shade trees, seats, and trash stations. This is the largest dog park in Glendale. On Mondays, this dog park is closed.
