Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park

Dogs are allowed in Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park's picnic areas and campsites. Dogs are also welcome on a variety of routes, including the Meadow Trail, Pipeline Road, Graham Hill Trail, and Powder Mill Fire Road, unlike many other state parks in the area. The park was established to protect woods and regions adjacent to the San Lorenzo River's watershed, including a number of massive redwood trees. Every day from sunrise to sunset, the park is open, and the Visitor Center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Roaring Camp Railroads in Felton, California, offers dog-friendly train rides through the California Redwoods. You and Petzooie can take a trip through the spectacular redwood forest on an actual 19th century steam railway, which is located just a few miles from Santa Cruz. The conductor will entertain you with the history of the railroad and its engines, which were originally used to move gigantic redwood logs out of the forest, as you ride down the ancient, twisting narrow-gauge railway to the summit of Bear Mountain. Daily tours are available, with departure hours varying depending on the season.

Scotts Valley Bark Park is a fantastic area for you and your dog to spend some time together. There are two different sections, one for little or timid dogs and the other for large, extroverted dogs. For the dogs, there are plenty of toys, water dishes, and a play pool. It's in the Skypark Complex, near to a playground and soccer grounds (for your non-canine family members).

Pogonip Open Space allows leashed dogs to explore certain areas. There are roughly eleven and a half miles of trails at Pogonip. Dogs are not permitted on all routes due to the presence of sensitive habitats on others. Dog owners must clean up after their pets and keep them leashed in dog-friendly locations. Check out the trail map on Pogonip's official website for details on where Petzooie is allowed. Pogonip is open from sunrise to 7pm from April to October, and from sunrise to 4pm from November to March.

In a specified part of the park near Medar Street and Nobel Drive, dogs are allowed to play off-leash.

Take Petzooie for a walk along Santa Cruz's West Cliff Drive. A three-mile walking and biking trail along the Pacific Ocean is known as West Cliff Drive. The walk begins at the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf and concludes at Natural Bridges State Beach, passing via the historic Santa Cruz Dream Inn, Steamer Lane, and Lighthouse Point. Wheelchair access is available on West Cliff Drive.
