4. Pacheco Dog Park

This area is totally gated, and dogs are allowed to run free from sunrise to sunset. Pacheco Avenue and Prospect Heights are the two streets that make up the neighborhood.

5. Pogonip Open Space

Pogonip Open Space allows leashed dogs to explore certain areas. There are roughly eleven and a half miles of trails at Pogonip. Dogs are not permitted on all routes due to the presence of sensitive habitats on others. Dog owners must clean up after their pets and keep them leashed in dog-friendly locations. Check out the trail map on Pogonip's official website for details on where Petzooie is allowed. Pogonip is open from sunrise to 7pm from April to October, and from sunrise to 4pm from November to March.

6. Venture Quest

With a kayak rental or tour from Venture Quest, you can paddle out onto Monterey Bay with your best friend. On kayak rentals and private wharf tours, Petzooie is welcome.

7. West Cliff Drive

Take Petzooie for a walk along Santa Cruz's West Cliff Drive. A three-mile walking and biking trail along the Pacific Ocean is known as West Cliff Drive. The walk begins at the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf and concludes at Natural Bridges State Beach, passing via the historic Santa Cruz Dream Inn, Steamer Lane, and Lighthouse Point. Wheelchair access is available on West Cliff Drive.

Lighthouse Field State Beach, where you and Petzooie will discover a dog-friendly scenic beach, is dog-friendly. Its Beach, also known as Lighthouse Field State Beach, is located north of the Lighthouse on West Cliff Drive. You are welcome to bring your dog along to enjoy the sand and surf, but they must be kept on a leash for the duration of their visit. Every day of the week, from 7 a.m. to sunset, the beach is open.

9. University Terrace Dog Run

In a specified part of the park near Medar Street and Nobel Drive, dogs are allowed to play off-leash.

10. Natural Bridges State Beach

Dogs are allowed in the parking lots and picnic areas at Natural Bridges State Beach, but they are not allowed on the trails or on the beach. Shorebirds, migrating whales, seals, and otters all call the area home. Every day of the week, from 8 a.m. to sunset, the park is open.
