Grays Peak Trail in San Bernardino National Forest is a dog-friendly, moderately simple, 6.4-mile out-and-back trip that will take around 3.5 hours to accomplish with Petzooie. This trail is located on the north side of the lake and leads to the backside of the mountain, where the water views are lost. However, the calm, quiet, and vast views that replace the view of the river are well worth the sacrifice. Due to habitat preservation, this location may be closed. Because this trailhead is located in bald eagle habitat, it is closed from winter to spring, and sometimes into summer, while the eagles are nesting.
