1. Monserate Mountain Preserve

A dog-friendly trail at Monserate Mountain Preserve in Fallbrook, CA, has a 1.5-mile ascent to the peak for panoramic views of the coast and mountains. Bring plenty of water for yourself and Petzooie. Please keep in mind that it is too hot to bring a dog along in the summer. The trailhead is located near the intersection of Stewart Canyons and Pankey Road, just east of I-15. Many of the Fallbrook Land Conservancy Preserves allow leashed dogs.

The Santa Margarita River Walk is a 5-mile dog-friendly trail near Fallbrook, California, with a variety of terrain and stunning vistas. The presence of so many broad water impoundments along the river, which are the work of the California golden beaver, often surprises visitors. At all times, dogs must be leashed.

Tenaja Falls Trail is an easy, dog-friendly half-hour hike near Fallbrook, CA that leads to Tenaja Falls. The Morgan Trail continues another 2.1 miles up the canyon before coming to an end.
