Ward Charcoal Ovens State Historic Park is located 20 miles south of Ely in White Pine County, Nevada, and is designated for historic preservation and public recreation. The beehive-shaped charcoal furnaces built in the latter half of the 19th century are protected by the 700-acre state park.

The Ely KOA demonstrates that Nevada is more than just casinos and neon. It's where the Great Basin National Park's mountains meet the high desert, with meadows, woodlands, wildflowers, streams, and lakes - as well as the interesting marble/limestone formations of Lehman Caves. Explore the abandoned settlements of the 19th-century silver boom.

Off Old River Road on the south side of Cedar Rapids, near the Cedar River, is the Cheyenne Off-Leash Dog Park. This park consists of 13.8 acres of gated green area divided into three sections: the main yard, the training yard, and the tiny dog yard. In the main yard, there is a walking path, benches, and an open-air shelter in addition to the dog yards. The walking trail also passes through some mature trees.
