At Tolowa Dunes State Park, which encompasses some of the most spectacular scenery on California's northern coast, dogs are welcome on the wave slope up to the high tide mark. The park is open for day usage from sunrise to sunset throughout the year, however the camping is closed till further notice.
2. Redwood National & State Parks
Most people are familiar with Redwood National Park as the site of the world's tallest trees. In addition to huge prairies, oak woods, wild riverways, and approximately 40 miles of rough coastline, the parks safeguard enormous prairies, oak woodlands, and wild riverways. Pets are welcome at Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Bring your dog to one of the last of a long line of redwood parks that stretches up the coast of Northern California. Dogs are not allowed on any of the park's trails, but they are welcome to accompany you on the roads and the beach, as well as the Mill Creek Watershed, logging roads, Walker Road, and Howland Hill Road. Near Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, the Myrtle Creek Trail and Craig's Creek Trail accept dogs. The park is open from sunrise to sunset every day of the week.
