Garrapata State Park

Scheid Vineyards' Carmel tasting location is dog-friendly and located in historic Carmel-by-the-Sea. Owners can swirl, sniff, and taste a glass of estate-grown wine or participate in one of two sampling flights. During their visit to the tasting room, dogs must be leashed. Scheid Vineyards is open from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday, and from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

Dogs are allowed on leash at Carmel River State Beach in Carmel, CA, which has a mile-long beach and a lagoon with a bird sanctuary. Scuba divers frequent Monastery Beach, also known as San Jose Creek Beach, which is part of the park. Swimmers must use caution in the water, which can turn choppy and dangerous. Please contact the Carmel River State Beach or visit their website for information on hours of operation and unforeseen closures.

In southeast Carmel, Mission Trail Park has 35 acres of paths. You may take a wonderful little walk down to the Carmel Mission Basilica if you enter the trail system via Mountain View Avenue (where it changes into Forest Road). You can also access the park via Rio Road, which is just across from the mission.

Mad Dogs & Englishmen is a dog-friendly establishment. The one-of-a-kind bike shop is in the center of Carmel-by-the-Sea. It specializes in high-end bicycles and dog equipment "for biking with your greatest friend." Electric bikes with pup-friendly sidecars and trailers may be leased for the day.
